My master bedroom got painted (not the topic here) and I really wanted SOMETHING on the window...besides the dirty blinds I inherited in the purchase. So I copied. Off my lovely neighbor, Jenny. Again. Thanks goodness we have different floor plans! I'd hate to copy everything! Anywho...she has a great window treatment in her family room bay window that translated perfectly my bedroom.
As usual, no "before" pictures. The hubby's friend, a REAL carpenter, took on quick look at Jenny's treatment and recreated it for me. I did nothing...not even pick out the wood. The cornice consisted on 2x6's, crown molding and rope molding. Then a little wood filler for the nail holes and corners, sanding, priming and painting.
Love it!!
I simple used tension rods to hang curtains I had stored in the closet since we moved.
The paint color? Hard to tell without natural light but it is Hinting Blue from Sherwin Williams.
Now...what would you put in the bay? Chair? Lounge? What? Help!
This looks great! I'm picturing a nice chair and a little table right there. :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I think a chair with an ottoman or a chaise lounge, along with a small table.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful window treatment. I really do love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting junkblossoms. Hope you'll come back soon. blessings Pat.
They look great! So posh!!! I think a nice overstuffed chair would be wonderful there,
ReplyDeleteWindow seat with lots of cushions!
ReplyDeletePut something there that YOU can utilize often and have some Jenn time. A chair is a great idea (and popular judging by the earlier comments) but only if you can see yourself using it- my opinion. A writing desk is another good idea, I think. facing out the windows would be a great view from a desk.
